Ms. Ruby Srivastava, an IRS officer of 1986 Batch. On being promotion to the apex scale, madam joined as Pr. Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Nagpur in December, 2020. Recently on 28th September, 2021, she has taken over the additional charge as Pr. Director General Trg. , National Academy of Direct Taxes, Nagpur.
Madam did her Bsc. Honours and Msc. From Banaras Hindu University and LLB from Delhi University. She started her career as Sub divisional Megistrate Trainee in the State Govt. of Uttar Pradesh as topper of 1984 Batch of Provincial Civil Service, prior to joining Indian Revenue Service in 1986.
In the Department she started her carres as Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax at Nagpur in the year 1988 and then in different capacities in investigation Wing in Pune and Mumbai.
From 1997 to 2001 she has been deputed to UPSC, New Delhi as Deputy Secretary Administration , Govt. Of India, wherein she has successfully implemented the project of Electronics Clearance Services for efficient and effective credit of salary, arrears, claim of LTC, HTC an GPF Advances/Withdrawals of around 2200 employees then working in UPSC.
She served as Custodian of Enemy Property Director level in the Ministry of Commerce, Govt. of India, for 3 years 2002-2005 . She handled estate matters all over India and litigation related to the same in various petitions by way of second appeals and SLPs filed before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.
As senior Reprenstative of the Department, she argued for and on behalf of the Department in various second appeals filed before Income Tax Appelate Tribunal, Mumbai. She worked as Commissioner Audit .
She has been awarded ‘Certificate of Appreciation’ for her contribution in compilation of Excellent orders titled ‘LET US SHARE’ by the Revenue Department.
She has earned Certificate in ‘Project Management & Principles’ from University of Michigan and on ‘Financial Market’ From University of Yale on Coursera Platform in 2016.
She wrote thesis on ‘Property Management & Taxation’ for her management training. She has been consistently invited for lectures in the Regional Training Institutes as well as National Academy of Direct Taxes, Nagpur, for officials of Group A, B & C.
In September, 2020 she did LLM Professional from National Las University, New Delhi. She is registered as Independent Director in the Data Base maintained with IICA, Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
She also worked as Director on the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Board. She did the long term training by Govt. of India for her Masters in Development Management; Asian Institute of Management, Manalia, Philippines; where she was placed in Dean’s list for the academic performance. She was also selected for ‘In-service’ Mid Term Training’ for the investigation Training Certificate from Indian Institute of Management IIM , Bengaluru and selected for University of Maryland,USA.

Welcome to the National Academy of Direct Taxes NADT which is the training arm of the Income Tax Department. NADT – the apex training institution of the Income Tax Department, is tasked with capacity building primarily of IRS Officers on their recruitment when they undergo their induction training at NADT. We also upgrade the skills of serving IRS officers so as to keep them abreast of the changes, be they in the area of knowledge of the law and its implementation or in the behavioural and technical skills required to deliver on the task assigned to the department- of garnering the resources due to the government in a fair and transparent manner. We also train officers of other Group A Services of the Government of India as also the tax officers of different countries.
My team consists of experienced and committed officers at NADT who as faculty members leave no stone unturned in ensuring that the very best is imparted at NADT. Likewise, at the Regional Training Institutes spread across the country, my officers ensure that the human resource of the Department keeps pace with the changing law and technology.
The green environs of the Academy lend themselves to making this learning an enjoyable one for both the trainer and the trainee as they provide the perfect backdrop for exchange of ideas necessary in an institution of such repute.
