The Directorate of Training comprises of NADT , 7 Regional Training Institutes RTIs and 27 Ministerial Staff Training Units. The NADT is the premier institution of the Directorate of Training and it is headed by the Director General of income Tax Training , of the rank of Additional Secretary to the Government of India. It has two Additional Director Generals ADG of Income Tax of the rank of Joint Secretaries to the Government of India. There are eight Additional / Joint Directors of Income Tax and eight Deputy / Assistant Directors of Income Tax as faculty. The functions at NADT are by and large divided into - Administration, Planning and Research and Faculty. Administration looks after all the establishment, general administration, vigilance, infrastructure works / projects of the entire directorate. Planning and research looks into designing of training calendar of the directorate ie NADT and DTRTIs, its approval, planning, designing and hosting the various inservice, outreach and international courses/ seminar / events. It also conducts the annual trainers conference and Mid-term review. The Faculty wing looks into the conduct of Professional course of IRS Officer trainees and Foundation course for newly recruited civil servants. All the officers posted in NADT take sessions in various courses and programmes. Apart from above functions the faculty members also look after the functions of library management and Systems Management. Two Asst Director Systems looks after training and technical matters related to Computers and network. Two Asst Directors Official Language are responsible for Official Language training and implementation of Official Language Policy.
