 She has to her credit post graduate degree in Physics. She turned towards the field of Education and acquired postgraduate degree in Education, followed by doctoral degree in the same stream. She pursued further education through distance learning and acquired a Post Graduate degree in subject communication from Yashvantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University and was awarded Dadasaheb Gaikwad Puraskar of Maharashtra Government. She joined the Income Tax Department in January 1991 as Inspector of Income tax and was promoted as Income Tax Officer in September 1995. The working experience during this period was mainly related to the headquarters of the CIT and CCIT, Vidarbha. Two stints in the field gave her experience of the assessment work which forms the backbone of the department. In October 2008, she joined the NADT as Assistant Director on promotion. Finding solace in the world of words she pens down her thoughts in Marathi, Hindi and English. She has to her credit a poetry book named �Ekach Shabda�. She likes to spend her spare time with her family i.e. her father and sister and loves reading. P. G. Wodehouse and James Herriot are her favourite authors.

Smt Patil has joined NADT in 2008 and has been looking after the administration.
